The photographic series was inspired by the movie “The night of the Hunter” of Charles Laughton, 1955.
Black is the river is the transfiguration of a well- known place, the river Po, throughout the night and the suspense.
Fascinating elements able to change the perception of it and to move it into a magic realism dimension.
Silence, isolation and darkness become writing instruments of the landscape and of your own unconscious.
The viewer is invited to a place where real can opens to imagination and suggestion.
Visual backgrounds and sensitivity become guides for new individual stories.
All photos are part of a larger series and have been digitalized from medium format film.
